Wash fruit and vegetables before consumption
While literally laundering your fruit and vegetables may not be practical or advisable, this section does provide insights into effective ways to eradicate pesticides and other residues that might otherwise be consumed by you. Pesticides aren’t easily removed. This section will provide tips to reduce toxic ingestion.Quit the world’s most popular drug: sugar
Said to be just as addictive as cocaine, sugar - in all its disguises - is the leading cause of ill-health in our modern times. Quitting, or at least markedly reducing your sugar intake, is a life-saving strategy.Bone Broth: a health and beauty boost
The efficacy of bone broth harks back to the Stone Age when it was cooked in turtle shells, according to archaeologists. And it was hailed by the Father of Medicine, Hippocrates, in the fourth century BC as the elixir for a long and healthy life. Today, if you’re looking for both good health and good looks in one food, bone broth’s probably the answer.Eat Eggs Daily
The myth about eggs and their association with increased cholesterol levels is cracked wide open in this section. In fact they’re one of the most nutrient dense foods you can eat while also being high in dietary cholesterol (that’s a good thing for your waistline), a rich source of antioxidants, and have been the mainstay for some of our longest living supercentenarians.Go fish
Fish has been identified as one of the healthiest foods on our planet, and, dare I say, is analogous to a fountain of youth. As a high quality protein, fatty fish especially, is a high-quality protein packed full of omega-3 fatty acids: a vital food source as our bodies can’t produce these essential elements on their own. The Okinawan people of Japan, known to have one of the largest proportion of supercentenarians on the planet, have a diet rich in fatty fish. Go fish for a long and healthy life.Get on ya bike
Looking for an exercise that has the potential to reverse the aging process at the level of the cells? Just get on ya bike and undertake some high intensity interval training to rejuvenate your body’s ‘batteries’. The data in this section will astound you, but more importantly, provide you with a health strategy for a rejuvenated life.Long life is just a s-t-r-e-t-c-h away
Once upon a time being stretched was considered torturous! Nowadays, not only is stretching pleasurable but it’s jolly good for your years and for looking younger!Mud up
While full immersion in a mud bath may be something Louis Litt of the series Suits regularly undertook and my cartoon characters used to scare the family dog, this tip doesn’t require that much of you. The ‘mud’ I’m referring to can be used internally and externally for detoxing, as a defence against illness and so much more. You’ll be as happy as a pig in mud with the health, longevity and beauty benefits.Pet ownership
The physical and emotional benefits of pet ownership will sweep you off your feet (metaphorically) but will lower your blood pressure and cholesterol levels while lifting your spirits (literally).Fun and laughter truly are the best medicine
Ancient texts and modern science agree that genuine laughter, joy and spontaneous fun can lift your spirits and lengthen your life. Japanese doctor Shigeaki Hinohara advocated for retaining elements of a childlike view of the world: he lived a fun-filled 105 years!Music to save your life and build your happiness quotient
Whether it’s Celine Dion, Deep Purple, something in between, or beyond, music really is medicine for your body and spirit. Five amazing benefits await your reading pleasure.
Foreword by Dr John Demartini
In a world saturated with information on how to ward off disease, sustain wellness and find the elixir to a long life, there emerges a gem that is worthy of attention. 100 Ways to a Healthy 100 is one of those, and it’s come into your hands for a reason. What makes this book unique? The answer lies in its ability to harvest the pearls from a sea of health and wellbeing treasures, transforming the collective wisdom of ancient and contemporary sources into an easy-to-read guide, interspersed with a mix of humor, story and heart-warming analogies.
I first ‘met’ Deb in a desolate region of Australia. It was about ten years ago when she and a friend shared a drive across the Nullarbor Plain. Her friend’s copy of my book, The Breakthrough Experience, lay open on the backseat of the car. Intrigued, Deb asked to read it and over the several day journey across this wilderness, she did just that. Inspired by what she read, Deb and I would eventually meet in person when she became a student of mine and then a Demartini Method facilitator assisting me live at my Breakthrough Experience seminars.

As a human behaviour specialist and educator, I have dedicated over four and a half decades of my life to helping people to expand their potential, in order for them to live extraordinary lives. I have learned that the key to exceptional achievement and fulfilment lies in finding out what is most valuable and meaningful to people so they can access their greatness. When this happens, an inspiring leader emerges, one who embraces the voice and vision within themselves, values service to others and the rewards this brings - a form of momentum building sustainable fair exchange if you will. Deb Peden is an example of one such individual: in researching and writing her book she has been inspired to trust her own potential in order to help others live extraordinary and healthy lives.
The extraordinary aspect of this book is its breadth of knowledge and wisdom on a diverse range of topics, distilled in an easy-to-read manner, and injected with Deb’s unique style to inform, entertain and inspire us to reach beyond 100 years of age in vibrant good health.
100 Ways to a Healthy 100 is a worthy read, not just for its information and charm, but because it represents and reflects a fine example of an individual who was inspired to listen to the voice and vision within to convey a message to serve and inspire others.
